It's exciting to see the walls are up and the electric is run. And the first coat of new color is on and it's looking more Like a Leah space! Delays in equipment and parts shipments is a frustrating reality that feels like we are walking through sand. But every day we make progress and it's coming together! Our new walk in freezer box has been built onsite and once we get the cooling system installed it will be the coolest place in town! Well actually, once it's full of our yummy goods, then it will be the coolest place in town.
Still working on getting the HVAC system right, and floors and doors are up next!
I wish I could give ya'll a date, but we are still at the mercy of shipments of equipment and parts & pieces for some of our utilities and systems. This is an extremely delicate balance of what needs to happen 1st, 2nd, and so on. We are making it happen as fast as we can, and I just don't want to pick a date then have to move it a bunch of times before we can actually move in. SO hang tight, please be patient with us as we build our new kitchen, classroom and temporary retail location for Leah's.

We are making progress! Walls are built, doors and windows are cut out and electrical is being roughed in. It is starting to resemble the drawings! We even got the kitchen wall panels up- yessss! Our door decals and Coming Soon window panels are up- they even have a QR code to easily scan and get up-to-date updates. Thanks for following us along this journey of building Leah's Cakery Uptown location.

Woohoo, construction has started at the new location! We received our building permit and jumped right in! First thing- find the sewer line and get the plumbing roughed in. Since this space was previously occupied by a gym, they didn't need 3 bay sinks, dishwashers, mop sinks and handwashing sinks. That's a few extra drains to connect. And we also have cut a hole in the wall connecting the two spaces. It's getting exciting to see the space start its transformation into the kitchen, classroom and retail space I have designed with the assistance of my architect. Oh yeah- I almost forgot- our automatic dishwasher has arrived! Our first piece of equipment to arrive for the new kitchen. And this is a delight to myself and staff who have hand scrubbed dishes, bowls, and pans for years. Soon we will be able to slide them in for a wash with no more than a slight movement of an arm.
The big questions everyone is asking is when do we move. Our answer is- we don't know yet. We have to fit up the new location then get the blessings from town and Department of Health. I am hoping for late October, early November. Rome wasn't build in a day, and neither will Leah's Cakery Uptown!

News and updates about the move! As many of you know I made a pretty big announcement on social media the other day about us having to move the Cakery for renovations to our current location. If you have not seen it, please visit our instagram or facebook page- click link in menu at the top of this page.
We are presently in the planning stage at the new location and we are preparing to build a kitchen, retail and classroom at 146 Raylinsky Rd Ballston Lake NY, units 2 & 3. We will be located right in the plaza behind Stewart's, along with Saratoga Dry Age Cuts, Ciao Bella Pizza & Pasta, Dragon Chinese and Anna Nail Salon. This new spot is just 1/2 mile down the road from our current location, 3 Curry Ave Round Lake. And great news- there is sidewalk the whole way from 3 Curry to the new spot 146 Raylinsky! So you can still come visit us after your walk or ride on the Zim Smith Trail, or for our local Village friends we are still walk in friendly!
We do not have an anticipated move date yet! I am hoping to be in the new spot by the busy holiday season. We are still located at 3 Curry Ave In Round Lake. I will be keeping you up to date on the progress both at the new location, and once we start construction at 3 Curry. Please follow along with us on Instagram or Facebook for latest updates.
So it's business as usual for now, with exciting things to come!
Thank you for supporting a local independently owned small business!
Love you guys!
Leah
